Social Boom Social Media Conference Review

Social BoomSocial Boom: Social Media Conference Review

This past weekend, I attended Kim Garst’s (Forbe’s 50 Social Media Power Influencers) Social Boom. It was amazing! Everything I expected and more. It was such a success that I already can not wait for next year. It was two days jam packed with information and networking. Let’s take a look of my thoughts on how things went.

Social Boom: Kim Garst Apprentice Program

I decided to attend this event well before things really changed for me. In the last 3 weeks, I have been approved and accepted into Kim Garst’s Apprentice Program.  This is an intense Social Media program where we will learn the best from the best in regards to using social media to explode your business with only about 15 other Apprentices in this current group. Once they reach the limit, there will be a waiting list until next year. I am very grateful and appreciative for this opportunity.

Now all about Social Boom

This weekend was Social Boom. It was open to anyone who wanted to attend and was in Tampa, Florida. The key note speakers included Gary Vaynerchuk (my hero), NY Times Best Selling Author and world renowned Social Media Star. Nathan Latka, Co-Founder of Lujure which is a Facebook Application Program and of course my mentor, Kim Garst  who has been named one of Forbes 50 Top Social Media Influencers. I morphed myself into a sponge trying to soak up every bit of information I could. I was surrounded by a dream group of people. Attending Social Boom really put things into perspective in regards to where things are headed. Kim shared so many tips for success in regards to Twitter, Pinterest, Google + and Pinterest, my head was spinning.

There were also tons of experts from multiple industries such as Direct Sales Superstar, Stacy Stevens, SEO Content and online PR experts Christine O’Kelly and Tara Geissinger and another sales hero of mine, Terry Williamson. We were able to attend a meet and greet Friday night and really spend some time picking each other’s brains as well as photos with Gary. Saturday, the sessions were back to back with so much information. Everyone was engaged, asking questions and really taking in everything they could,

There was something for everyone at Social Boom. From the basics of Twitter, how to make money using Facebook, working Pinterest in the right manner, how to market your Direct Sales Business different than everyone else, and step by step processes for Content Marketing and How Linked in and help your business. Because I am now one of Kim’s Apprentices, I also got to spend time at the VIP Reception. It was jam packed with some Social Media Super Stars in my eyes and of course Gary Vee. If you don’t know who Gary Vee is, you have to check him out on You Tube or read his best selling books, Crush It and The Thank you Economy. These are amazing books on where we are headed and where we need to be in the wild world of Social Media.  When it was my turn to meet Gary, it truly was an ah ha moment when he looked at me, shook my hand and had this look on his face like he was truly interested in meeting me, knowing my name and turning those 3 minutes or so into a conversation that was only about him and I. He really cares and you can honestly feel that. Imagine if we all did that with our customers. WOW. I really got it at that moment.

In the coming weeks, I will have tons of information about things people ask me every day such as:

  • How Do I use Twitter in my Direct Sales Business.
  • Twitter Basics
  • What to do with Linked in?
  • How to Pin Facebook Pictures to Pinterest.
  • How to be different compared to every other Direct Sales Consultant.
  • What Social Media mistakes every Direct Sales Consultant and even Direct Sales Companies are making.
  • Facebook Ads
  • All about Blogging
  • Personal Branding
  • The difference between a logo and branding.
  • Book writing to make yourself an expert

and tons more. Check out my Facebook Page at www.Facebook.com/SocialSuperGirl for more tips and tidbits about Social Media, Leadership, Personal Development and more.

Social Boom was an extreme success. We are hoping that it will be an annual event. A huge concept that I took away from this event was going back to “small town business’. That is what social media is. We will go into depth about this concept in later posts. It was amazing. Gary Vee’s Book, “The Thank you Economy” is all about this concept. Are you different than millions of other Direct Sales Consultants? Are you standing out? It might be time to do things a little different.
